I was thinking about Justin and how freakishly athletic he is. But it shouldnt be a surprise given that hes the 3rd brother (often the most successful in athletic families) and they are all super athletic.

Makes you think...if Jordan had just played TE or DE early on in his life he'd probably be in the NFL.

Everyone wants to be the QB but it might have been a curse in this case.

That’s an odd assumption to make sense the middle brother essentially did this and could barely get a cup of coffee in the NFL

Your comment makes zero sense.

The answer is “who knows?”

Which is my point

If the logic is “this is a super athletic family, Jordan should’ve played in the NFL at a different position because of that” then it doesn’t hold water because it’s not like he’s the only brother that didn’t make it in the league

If Les Miles was an NFL coach then sure.

He would be starting.

And what position besides QB are those numbers that special at the next level?

I never saw much from JJ that was extraordinary athletically. If it were he would’ve gotten a shot at one of those positions

HE could have easily been a TE...or added 30 lbs and been an edge rusher. LOL. His problem was he was TOO athletic.

"This guy isnt good enough to play TE....lets let start for our #1 ranked D1 program" -said no one ever.

Is that so? I can't think of too many brother trios off the top of my head besides the Watts, with JJ, the oldest, being the most successful.

Thats because you are thinking wrong. Im not talking about 3 brothers that are all pro athletes. Hell the first 2 may have been good high school players. but the little one gets to feed off that and learn earlier than they did.

A lot of time the 3rd brother is the one that makes it. (ala Joe Burrow.)

The other guys were super good and built the foundation for the last one to blossom. There are a lot of pros that had really good older brothers that didnt make it.

Every front 7 position on defense.

I wonder how good of a QB he would have been with real coaching.

I can’t hate the guy, he played his arse off. Just in a shite system

He would have been drafted if he wasn't injured.

Jordan should have played pro beach volleyball. I doubt he was skilled enough as a tight end to get into the NFL. Just really bad football instincts.

Jordan could run in a straight line, was big, but we have no idea what his hands were. I’m just thankful that the vitriol from the fan base didn’t get to that family.

I know that if he spent his formative years doing it he would most likely have been really good at it.

Alternative thought-
Jordan was a QB, Rickey was a DB, Justin was a WR.

I can see a lot of backyard catch sessions, and 1 vs 1 with Jordan as the permanent QB as they grew up.
Maybe if Jordan was at a different position, Justin doesn't develop into the WR he is.

Interesting take. I don’t think i’ve ever seen a QB transition into a defensive end.

Motivation, perseverance and determination supplement Justin’s physical skills. Only the very diligent workers make it in the NFL at any position. Those intangibles were not Jordan’s strong suite.
