You do realize we only have two “bigs” right?

I miss Keith Hornsby - best LSU hoops player in last ten years and that's just the way it is.
Healthy Hornsby and that Simmons team makes it to NCAA tourney.

I'm so sick of watching our opponents get offensive rebounds that it makes me want to puke.

I suspect that our coach is aware of the problem. It's only idiots who think they have superior insight into how coaches should conduct practice.

What does that have to do with anything? All 5 guys have to be blocking out. Typically we have one maybe two guys blocking out, while the others stand around doing nothing.

yet, the tallest man on the last two teams we played were 6-8 and they whooped us on the boards. Auburn's best rebounder was 6-3 and had more offensive boards than our whole team.

Watching them get offensive rebounds after a missed free throw is the worse friggin thing. You're already in position to start with

Which makes blocking out all the more important.

The fans can get angry all they want, but struggles in rebounding were something that every knew (or at least should have known) were going to be an issue all season. Epps and Reath are both Seniors. They are who they are at this point in their careers. Epps is a wing shooter playing in a 6'10 body. He doesn't play the physical game inside. Never has. Never will. Reath is a skilled offensive player, but he's not a particularly physical guy nor is someone who is an instinctual rebounder.

After those two the size drops of a cliff. Yes, LSU could do a better job of boxing out. But a big part of being a good rebounder is just the desire to be one. The great rebounders have a mindset of every ball that bounces off the rim is theirs and there is no one who is going to get in their way to grab it.

I would still ask Shaq to come and practice a couple of times....simply to show HOW TO ATTACK the basket and what PHYSICAL is.
