That Coach Ed Orgeron would be the coach of the year

Our co-offensive coordinator would be the best assistant coach in college football

Our QB would win the Maxwell, O’Brien, and HEISMAN as well as consensus first team all American

We’d have two consensus All American WRs, one of whom is the first LSU WR to win the Bilkentoff since Josh Reed

A consensus first team All-SEC runningback

The first Jim Thorpe Award winner since Mo Claiborne and Patrick Peterson

And a TRUE freshman consensus first team all american CB

Not to mention wins over Texas, Florida, Auburn, Georgia, and Ala-freakin-Bama all in one year

With a #1 ranking and playoff bound...

Oh and that Alleva would be long gone with Woodward back home and F King on his way out

Be honest... would you have laughed? Told me maybe some of those but not all of them? Told me to get in touch with reality? Shoot I might’ve even told myself that. Well, welcome to reality. All of are pipe dreams our coming true. Now we just have to finish the job. We. Comin.

Nobody on the planet would have believed you! I still rub my eyes when I watch this LSU offense...seems like I’m dreaming!

I’m sayin. It used to be sooo controversial to say things like “Coach O is a really good coach, I trust him. I mean Saban lost to UAB!” or even “Joe Burrow for Heisman” at the beginning of the year. People would’ve undoubtedly said pump your brakes

Looks like Ed O pounded a Red Bull, ripped his shirt off, and ripped the brakes out of this car!!

It’s like what you fantasize about in your WILDEST of wild dreams for LSU’s sports programs.

And it all fricking came true.

Hello one downvote

Idc how cringy it is, it’s the truth. No one on here would’ve thought we’d be at this level so soon. This team has almost everything we could’ve asked for and a few years ago we lost to Troy with our 3rd choice head coach hire. So yeah sorry for being in awe

Had my doubts with O after the loss to low Bama (UAB) school. I said IF he won the aTm game that year; I’d support him.

He did that and broke records, I believe!

Never doubted him since...

2017 - my then 11yo son and I take a trip to see LSU-UF in The Swamp. It's the week after the Troy debacle.

We laugh and enjoy the Mike the Tiger's Cryin' reboot (which has been taken down from YouTube apparently) of the Colonel Reb is Cryiin' song. The thread from The Rant though... LINK

We walk in to our seats to the jorted chants of, "Troyyyyy! Troyyyy! Troyyyy!"

LSU proceeds to play a very mediocre offensive game, but does at least beat that Gator arse. 341 total yards. Etling was 9-16 for 125 yards and 1 TD.

How far we've come...

Literally listened to that song the other day and laughed at how far O has come... the irony that the man they’re mocking is the coach of the year over a decade later!!

that was the game canada wanted brennan in and fought with O.

still looking back at etlings limitations what matt did with him was surreal. very good career stats for a 3rd stringer from purdue.
