If I'm PM I'm getting with Alleva and offering Andy whatever it takes to stay.

Still can't believe he would even consider going from LSU to msu

He is at UNO... Just a step above a good high school job. If offered, he would jump. Idiot

You have trouble believing the man would want to go from being an assistant to a head coach in the SEC? Seems like a natural progression

It's actually a bigger job than I think he's ready for on paper.

This is a no brainer move.

Why wouldn't he go to state? Long history of having very good teams, good facilities, and great fanbase.

Dean is a head coach and rebuilding a program. It would be a bad idea to offer him that. If he takes it, then he kind of derails his career trajectory.

Its a long ways off but Dean could make a very good coach one day

btW it's apparently better to be an assistant at LSU than a hc at a mid tiered sec school

goodness gracious

shite its better to be a volunteer coach at LSU than be the head guy at state. its not like state hasn't won more fricking CWS games than us lately.

I agree cause there is always the possibility of him getting the HC job when CPM retires which honestly i hope it is sooner than later

Going from an asst. coach to head coach to the goal of nearly all asistants.

MSU is a plum job. Not just as the SEC goes but nationally as well.

I looked up Dean's salary at UNO (as a public school his pay is public information).

He makes $65,000/year.

I'm sure he makes some additional comp from his baseball camp and he may have a radio show of some kind during the season (not sure about that) so his total comp might be higher.

LSU could easily triple his pay (Allen Dunn is paid $250,000) plus a % of the LSU baseball camps.

He would be in a good position to be the next LSU head coach when Mainieri retires.

So it's not a no-brainer that staying at UNO would be better for him.

So LSU fans are happy to hire anyone who bat above .350 in Alex Box before to be our hitting coach.

CPM has stated several times that he'd like to coach another 10 yrs or so. There is no way BD would wait that long to become HC here. Too, this would be a step down career wise...not saying financially...and that is usually a no no in any profession. The experience he's getting in rebuilding a college baseball program is invaluable for his resume'.
