That loss actually happened and merits discussion.

Not 3 months later....when we're looking forward to a bowl game and a 10-win season...something no one thought we could get to.
Besides, it doesn't change anything. We can't un-shite the bed.

I don't think anyone really wants to play the "what if" game anyway.....because we could go back to Miles' tenure and have a freakin field day.

I can't for the life of me figure out how he got that out of my post.

Maybe deep down, dukke wants o fired and he's trying to bait someone into saying yes, that's what I want, and then dukke can reveal his true feelings about the subject and not feel alone.

Ok, Red. We should all forgive and forget a loss that happened less than 3 months ago but by God, let's keep a tight grip on a loss that happened 6 years ago.

Red, Red, Red, Red, Red...... SMH....

Thanks for your thoughts...

BUT.. I just asked A question... I will say this again.. I did NOT like the hire.. But he is he coach of the team I root for and I will give him credit AND bash him when I feel the need to....

I get tired of the constant BASHING by posters without giving him any credit... He deserves MORE PRAISE than he does bashing or being critical........

You know, the traditional measuring stick was a 10 regular season win.

So you say you'll "bash" him, but then you get upset when others "bash" him (which no one is doing by the way).

But why did you ask me that question after what I posted? Ed Orgeron wasn't even part of my post!

Nor did I.

Miles was given the exact same treatment, so was Saban and every other coach before them. It goes with the job, like it or not. And damn near everyone here on the rant has given o credit for the Auburn win, which was a hugh victory, and keeping the team together when the season could have really gone south after the month of September. Other than that, I personally don't see anything worth praising him over. That's just my opinion though.

That's your opinion, nothing more, nothing less.

Have as good of a day as you can dukke.

He doesn't have to win 11 games a year, but he should do it once in his first contract. Otherwise what's the point of having him here?

This year was probably his best chance to do it.

Stop the histrionics. That's not what I said. But read his contract, or other college coaching contracts for that matter. There is an incentive for 10 REGULAR season wins. Not for 10 overall. Bowls generally are treated separately.

If you can't see the significance between an OOC loss in the middle of a season and a NC loss with arguably the best team this school has ever fielded...on national TV...against our most bitter rival.....when we sat on our hands and made no adjustments....and basically looked like hammered shite the entire game.....I don't know what to tell ya.

Miles earned EVERY SINGLE BIT of the criticism he got by squandering talent and underachieving every single year after 1-9. Don't kid yourself. He was the laughing stock of the coaching community by the time he left and there's a reason....whether any of you guys want to admit it or not.....that he's not coaching anywhere right now.

How so with a marginal QB, way too many TF playing (which should never be the case), Key a shell of himself, and a new OC with a new look on offense?

Ya'll kill O for the Troy debacle...fair enough...but Aranda did give up 24 to this so-called vastly inferior team.

No. It's written in O's contract.

why would they not have reason for optimism? 4 of their losses were 1 possession games, they currently have the #2 recruiting class in the country.

you sound like you don't know what are you talking about.

Actually you don't know what you are talking about
They've had multiple defections( either guys who shouldn't leave for draft are leaving or kids transferring) Their recruiting class is almost all skill guys. They are going to have to start multiple freshman on OL and DL next year.
Venture over to shaggybevo or texas 247 and its not very optimistic

You see how many teams on our schedule had coaching searches after this season?

Since 2011 he averaged 9 regular season wins a year. Are you going to give O the same treatment, since his record this year is the same as Les’ post-2011 average?

There it is. It's always someone else's fault with an Orgeron coached team.

Without Aranda this season would've been an unqualified disaster. Taking out Orgeron and leaving the HC vacant, we'd probably win the Troy game. Think about that.
