If Chavis decides to leave.....Who do we get.

Heard on the morning show on 104.5 this morning that LSU might want to be slightly worried that Chavis might leave.
If he leaves who would LSU get as a DC?

Bradley Dale Pevito. It was Miles plan all along when he rehired him. Push out Chief for his buddy. BBQ will be flowing like wine in Baton Rouge.

I would take Coach O over Chavis, right now. I think Coach O would recruit like a mad man once he gets a job again. I think Coach O would make our D more agressive than it has been. Our D has been very good with Chavis here, so that just nit picking things.

This. It's too late in the offseason to get the permanent replacement, so I'd expect an internal hire for at least the next year.

Someone with a foolproof 2 minute Defense would be my first requirement. Someone that could also recognize a decent QB would be second.

Would Coach O be the right fit considering his background is D-line? Wouldn't we then need to also hire a LB coach?

Why are people worried about Chavis leaving? He would not be a huge loss. Other than 2011 when he had a team full of blue chippers what has he done that makes him irreplacable? He has been repeatedly pwnd at end of games when we need 1 stop to win.
