If Aranda had left after last season, how would you feel about this season and why?

Although I don’t agree with the SEC media day prediction for LSU this year, without Aranda, I would say it was spot on. I believe Aranda is the only thing keeping Ed O at his spot as HC. With Aranda gone then we would have to rely on more from the HC in order to win a game. If we had to rely on CEO to actually make decisions during the game, I don’t think LSU would be very successful. He hasn’t shown he has that ability. CEO made a bad decision on kicking it in the ND game instead of going for it. His teams are not prepared like in the 2016 Florida game, and last years Troy and Miss St game. Lastly, he is not a superior or even above average X and O guy compared to other SEC coaches.

If we can’t rely on CEO then that means he would have to make a great hire for the DC. I do not have confidence in CEO making a great hire based off his past history of hires. He’s flubbed the Canada hire and promoted an individual that has not been an OC in decades.

For me, these points are worrisome. We can’t expect to hold on to Aranda for very much longer and without him I believe our future is bleak.

I would be a lot less confident that we can have a very good season. Mainly because I feel like we finally have DL and LB depth for the first time since he has been here. I really want to see if they will have some new wrinkles as far as blitz packages and such. In the past, he has said he wanted to keep it simple until his Def is fully installed and has the depth to run it. I assume this if finally that such season.

There would be NO hope without Aranda. It would ensure a quicker firing of CEO & Alleva though

If he had went for it and didn’t make it then the rantards would really be out for blood. Why does the defense get a pass on not stopping ND.

I bring up this post because, more than likely at some time in the near future, we will be hiring a new DC... Could he stay until retirement, sure, but highly unlikely. So I’m asking a question that most believe will happen. I attached this year because I believe it makes it easier to conceptualize the idea as opposed to some time in the future... What do you think

Aranda will be the next coach at LSU. I think that’s why he stayed.

He would have gotten crucified if he went for it and didn’t get it. Either way the rantards would have spun it the opposite direction.

They don’t get a pass. I was very disappointed with the TD they gave up, but I was equally as disappointed with CEO for not going for it in a bowl game that has no real meaning. Go for the jugular in a game like that especially at the foot line.

very confident. Eaux has proven himself as one of the nations best defensive coordinators. He is a well respected tactician and we are so very fortunate to have won the Eaux Sweepstakes. Everyone in the coaching market was knocking on his door when Alleva went out and closed the deal.

It was a bowl game with no meaning. Go for it and have some balls.
