So you would fire him in the middle of the CWS???? It’s probably a good thing you aren’t an AD.

Yeah, you don't leave that lefty in there in the 9th to face Florida's homerun hitters. I was expecting him to bring a righty in at the bottom of the inning.

Couldn’t have said it better myself.
2 batters too late and Prince was warmed up waiting

Could not believe he left that pitcher in for so long. In the moment, it felt like a mistake not going with their closer to start the inning. The 1st home run should've been the indicator that he should go to his bullpen.

No doubt. This board would have JJ’s head on a platter if that happened.

No doubt. I could not be an AD, an owner, a head coach, etc. Yes, I would fire him.......tonight!

So you're one of the irrational fools posting on the Rant/Scoreboard after an LSU loss.

Nope. Not so far. JJ hasn't been that stupid.

I agree with this board's criticism of the UVA HC. BUT, that HC has made UVA into a national baseball power. You do not fire that caliber of HC because his pitching moves did not work out in a big game.

I can see both sides here. But he absolutely froze. No idea what they have in the bullpen but to leave that pitcher out there after he gave up two home runs and a HBP, and then leave him in the game, in the 9th inning.... You play to win the game.
I have no idea what he was thinking.

We were watching in disbelief that he kept him in that long

Pretty sure the same guy gave up a HR in the 8th as well, in case that wasn’t bad enough.
I feel this is something that is worse in the context of the game. It was past the point of feeling bad for the kid on the mound.
The kid who faced one batter and gave up the sac fly was their closer for the majority of the season & has more saves. To not even give him a chance…

He did.
Then in the ninth gave up the other stuff I mentioned.
I mean I guess there’s a method to the madness but the bases were loaded, you were winning by 3 runs.
Not a lot of trust in the bullpen I guess.

Now our fans want to fire another teams coach for a perceived in-game blunder. I definitely agree he should have replaced the pitcher much sooner and it cost them the game, but he is in Omaha. That's pretty damn good and there are a lot of coaches at home right now. During the game I also felt like the Florida coach left his starter in too long and it cost them runs. It could have cost them the game as well had the Virginia coach not bailed him out. Point is this happens a lot. It's just amplified on this stage.

That's Paul's butt buddy you are talking about

He made some terrible moves.
To be fair, very few of us have watched Virginia play before today. We have no idea what they have done with the pitchers all year.
It was clear that the LHP was done though
