Posted by BayouRat15 on 9/24/17 at 12:20 pm2817
And what was his reaction when the US forces save him on the overpass 12 years ago

I suspect he was mad that Bush blew up the levees and hated black people.
Funny how all of those NFL/NBA and CFB champions still went to the White House despite that.

You're ascribing to him opinions he has not expressed. Why don't you ask him why he was kneeling rather than interpreting it in your own way. You may not agree with the reasons but just because a guy kneels that doesn't necessarily means he hates all things USA.

Why are y'all surprised that Fournette is a kneeler? He's never stricken me as a particularly bright guy. Good player but not the smartest.

He was probably pretty grateful.
Is he protesting the military right now? I must have missed that.

Maybe have a conversation with him about what’s it like growing up as a poor black kid in the south. I’m sure you could learn a thing or two.
I have no problem with any American excercising their freedom of speech. I personally would not kneel during the national anthem, because that’s not how I feel about the flag. But that doesn’t mean these players don’t have a point to listen to.

bullshite
If he has complex problems he'd like to debate, then fine - bring it on.
If he is going to make some ignorant display that is hard to interpret but one way, then to hell with him when people interpret it that way. Most people went to tat game to watch American Football - they shouldn't be expected to psychoanalyze some culturally dysfunctional nonsense 'protest' movement going on in the USA.
If it looks like he is disrespecting the USA, then he has to make a decision - does he want to leave an impression of his disrespect for everyone to see and judge, or does he not give a shite and is kneeling to stay simpatico with some dysfunctional brethren?
Screw him and anyone else who supports this lame-brained bullshite.

He’s not protesting the National Guard and Coast Guard.
The armed forces are not the end all be all of the American flag’s symbolism.
Your question is a red herring, non sequitur, and straw man.
So frick off.

It's not hard to interpret it one way. In fact, there are many, many quotes, but this sums it up very simply:
quote:
I am not going to stand up to show pride in a flag for a country that oppresses black people and people of color. To me, this is bigger than football and it would be selfish on my part to look the other way.
quote:
Most people went to tat game to watch American Football
They still played the game.
quote:

No psychoanalysis necessary. The players are kneeling because they feel through their own experiences and worldview that minorities are not being treated fairly in modern day America. It has NOTHING to do with the military. I'm sure Fournette would shake hands with any man or woman who is serving or has served this country in the military. He is a very respectful person.

He has every right to do so. You don't have to like it, but it's not nearly as cryptic as you want to make it seem.
