I was never a Leah Van fan, but she’s a trooper, wasn’t aware she had cancer

I’ve heard her on the radio and think she is not good at her job. I think we all agree there.

But what I didn’t know is all the stuff she’s been through:

- got diagnosed with leukemia at 15, after a visit with her pediatrician, it was a surprise diagnosis
- had to basically live in a childrens hospital for a year going through chemo
- she basically had to live her life after that like we all lived Covid: masking, not being around people or going in public, had to be in rooms with filtered air, etc., and this was when nobody else was doing it so she was an outlier/seen as a weirdo
- at 4 years old, lost her dad to pretty much the same leukemia she was diagnosed with 11 years later
- had to give up her high school sports after diagnosis

And I’m def not one to be the “hey don’t criticize someone because they had a hard past.” But it’s just something I wasn’t aware with her and her life. Again, I think you can criticize someone if they aren’t doing a good job. Just figured I’d pass this along.

that's tough to hear, but she's done a terrible job and looks to be offended at every single thing

Relative to recent ones, she’s done a fine job.

Again. Not dismissing her faults as a reporter. I haven’t heard enough of her to know this. But she may just have that liberal mindset of always needing something to be offended by. It’s a disease (no pun intended)

No she hasn't. I made fun of her for not knowing who the Whistler was in Vandy. I didn't know shite about her then. Now I do and I feel terrible.
She's a tough MFer. She beat cancer and came to work at LSU. That says a LOT!
Coming here is a culture shock for ANYONE. She's had a LOT to learn in 8 months here. And her job was made exponentially harder b/c we're the 2nd worst fanbase in the country(Florida is the worst).

I apologize to Leah and I am incredibly grateful for her hard work and dedication to reporting on our beloved Tigers.

Well said. It's also Johnson's first year, so his tenancies and the way he does things, everybody is learning

It’s almost like you were afraid to post something that made you sound too empathetic, so you felt the need to shite on her just to save face with the emotionally crippled who post here.

I’m sure she’s a great person and a great writer but she knew absolutely nothing about SEC baseball prior to being hired. Just a questionable hire to run the beat of probably the biggest college baseball brand in the country.

Her radio interviews are cringeworthy to listen to because she brings absolutely zero knowledge of the program to listeners. Just regurgitating sound bites from Jay Johnson.

While the Rantards are drinking Bourbon and shitting on a young lady for doing her job, she's still busy doing her job.
Half you MFers don't know shite about Hasty much less his first name.

Its not like everyone follows SEC baseball. Its her first season, you can't expect her to know everything. Im sure next year she will be much more prepared.

Considering it was an odd hire (not her fault, I’d take it too if I were her) she’s done fine as far as I’m concerned. Could it be better? Sure. Could it be worse? Yep.
I’m willing to let her learn and her past battles make me wanna root for her anyway

Has a job covering a college baseball team and takes a weekend off in May. I don’t know.

She was hoping Crews walked it off against Florida so she could wrote a story about him “walking it off” in his home state

Blame the shitty advocate for hiring someone with no experience so they could go cheap. Personally, I don’t think she’s been terrible. She is green and learning but at least she is putting in effort unlike the last jug we had

Jacob is from Texas and is LH. He didn't pitch hardly at all until April. I guess I'm the other half of the MFers.

She don't bother me as much as others. She is trying hard but I'm not a big fan and think she would be better covering the Saints...oh wait, they already have someone doing that job.

Regardless of one’s opinion on Leah Vann, this statement is fricking retarded and if you think it’s accurate you’re fricking retarded.

I know it's accurate. I was in 124 for 18 home games this season.

So what disease is it that conservatives have that they assume and make shite up about people to make fun of and judge them negatively right off the bat? It’s very pervasive throughout the South so the faster we can get a lid on the spread of that disease the better off we’d all be.
