I thought the NBA drafted on a players potential?
During the basketball season if a poster would say Naz wasn’t NBA ready, there would be at least 15-20 posters per thread telling them NBA Executives drafts on a players potential and they really don’t care about their college play.

Well I guess that’s not 100% true.

ETA- he’s a better prospect than some of those drafted last night, So now it’s up to him earn a spot/check.

Kind of exactly like he would have to do if he returned to LSU.. except now he can get MORE practice, training and instruction due to no NCAA limitations and he will get paid up to 500k

He did 3 bench press reps. That probably lowered his “potential”.

2 of the top 10 picks in the draft were totally based on potential.

The NBA didn't think as highly of his clumsiness as many on here did. I hope he develops in to a bench/rotational player who can get a few years in the league. That is his ceiling in my opinion. Good luck NAZ

He signed a two way contract so he’s making decent money the next two years

Naz tanked himself during the draft process itself

There Is so much to say here, so much that I’ll shorten it considerably.

Dumb troll post

Yea they draft on potential. Problem is Naz hurt his draft stock this year by showing his potential isn’t what everyone thought. He’d of been drafted if he was hurt all year to be honest (assuming not a career altering injury), not that I wish that upon anyone,

Well 2 months ago, 85-90% of The Rant said he would be drafted. Just curious to see how many come back to say they were wrong.

Now it’s well he signed a two contract so he will make more money than me.

No troll if I wanted to that I would start a topic about Coach O.

And then these 15-20 posters would follow up with something like, "you're an idiot and don't know a thing about basketball".

I like Naz, I appreciate his contribution to LSU and I wish him the best, but it seemed painfully obvious that he was not/is not NBA ready. Naz played like he was 6'5", not 6'10"

Then I guess it's clear that Naz was not only lacking in NBA readiness, but also did not have potential some thought he had. That does not bode well for him making it into the league.

Reddish is a great example of someone who was drafted strictly on potential

It's hard to evaluate that potential when your combine is crap.

A great combine can overcome college performance. Great college performance can make a combine seem like it was just an off day.

Naz had neither. He was a very good college player but not good enough, not consistent enough, not enough of a track record, to overcome his combine.

Which probably makes NBA execs think he HAS met his potential.

I think the biggest problem was that Naz showed up ALOT fatter than any other prospect at the combine. Teams saw that he did not train hard at a time when his career depended on it.
