I don’t know why people were bashing him two weeks ago. Every game he plays, the better he will get. And he has great arm talent

I truly belive that 80% of his issues in the GASO game was poor snaps from out backup C.

That's this teams Achilles heel. The one player we can't lose (one I thought since the 2017-2018 offseason was going to be a good one for us) is Lloyd Cushenberry III.

Yeah he did. Looks very comfortable out there. And he'll improve in the off season.

Didn't you hear about the press conference? We are training a new center. Coach O had enough of the bad snaps

I can honestly see he’s put on some weight. His arms used to be pencils

Yeah that's how it works.

Burrow has a year of starter experience. Brennan hasn't seen much PT in over a year and when he does it's with the twos. He's going to be ready to roll next year. He's a leader.

Frankly, you're always cross training a OG as C.

Worth noting, this year and last, very very few bad snaps by my man Cushenberry. I counted two last year with a 3rd on Brennen in one of the early games. One high one so far this year easily handled by Burrow (haven't been watching as closely though).

Kardell was getting some snap work before his injury. I think that MIGHT be the solution in future. He needs lots of work, but the bones are there. Lewis has gotten a fair amount of reps snapping. He should be getting a butt load every week right now. He's our best option with Magee sliding in at OG (or Ingram back!!) if Cush goes down.

If Lewis isn't repped up and Cush goes down this offense will really be hurt. So much so it might have to revert to a pro-style. I'm not being facetious here either.

It happened again last night. Not sure why the backup center can't do better than a middle schooler on the shotgun snap.

It wasn't as terrible as it was (worth noting). Didn't see it severely throwing off timing like it did.

But for C, you start with a good OG. Then you have to be able to shotgun snap, consistently. And you have to be able to snap that and get that arm back to first punch (unless you want to get turned around and put on your backside). All the while not losing leverage with you legs because you hike that arse when you hike the ball OR get your pad level too high with bad post-snap posture. To make matters worse, some who struggle with shotgun snaps also have issues with the off arm flying open.

Hence, when you suck at snapping it all goes wrong. One arm pinned down, one arm out wide, now the DT can keep separation, and you're not getting any leverage because your arse was out of line.

It's almost binary. If can snap accurately and crisply the other stuff isn't an issue. If you can't snap worth a shite, you can't block worth a shite and you end up with the inability to adjust either.
