But damn, media outlets and "journalists" have made this search fricking unbearable

This is what happens when you have a professional AD that doesn’t allow leaks

Media is suppose to speculate and guess. It’s entertainment.

Unfortunately, our media thinks they are suppose to nag insiders for info, then broadcast what they hear onto the radio and internet.

I forgot about the leak detection issue in the AD's office when Woodward arrived. Think he did the same thing. Floated crap to find out where the leaks in the department were. Maddening to fans; essential for his business.

The guy was flying out of small muni airports so he wasn't picked up by fans looking at Flightwaware.

I LOVE coaching searches. This one has greatly helped bridge some of the boring gap in the sports world from the beginning of June until a few weeks before football starts.

The multiple "inside sources"
The failed "guarantees"
The preemptive meltdowns
The post-mortem anger

The role of the media is becoming less and less important. That's why they are losing more and more credibility. It used to be that the only way fans got information on the search was if journalist dug it up. But NOW, particularly on this board, anyone who gets an "inside scoop" can share that info themselves. We no longer need journalist to get it. So, to stay relevant, they have been relegated to guessing more than reporting "scoops". They are no more informed (and probably less informed) than folks on social media.

Oh, right. This board is just a never-ending river of "inside scoops."

This board is a clown show. I'm happy to be a participant. But it's a clown show.
