I know it's been said before but the job James Cregg has done with this offensive line
is unbelievable. They are being coached up into a very solid, even good, group. What started out as a weak area has improved by leaps and bounds.

Hats off to Cregg.

They are a BIG part of the offensive success. Burrow gave them well deserved props.

I think a little bit of run game where the OL gets fire off and knock the crap out of a DL that's been pinning their ears back ultimately does wonders for the OL's pass blocking.

Our OL is doing extremely well. Cregg, the staff, and the OL are the roux in our spicy Ya Ya gumbo offense. We comin'!

As an aside, I thought our DL did well also considering they were being held, gouged, or choked nearly every play. I lost count watching replay last night.
Geaux Tigers!

I'm too lazy to go find old threads but just a few weeks ago there were multiple calling for Cregg to be fired

I have to openly admit! I was really down on him after last year. But am pleasantly surprised! Fully on board now! GEAUX TIGERS

I was one of the people calling for Cregg to get the boot last year.

The entire offensive staff is performing at an unprecedented level.

Can anyone tell me the last time a team went from one of the absolute worst offensive units to one of the best in a single year? This transformation has been phenomenal.

The OL played magnificently against UF. UF’s best chance was getting pressure on Burrow, and it was inconsistent at best for their DL. They really showed that they can play against tough DLs.

re: I know it's been said before but the job James Cregg has done with this offensive line
Initially, it seemed like transitioning the OL from more traditional blocking schemes to modern RPO blocking schemes was taking time for our big guys to fully grasp. That's not a nock at all, because new things take time for sure.

Cregg has gotten them playing quite well now. I've seen a good mix of zone blocking and playing gaps as well, and the guys are now excelling in whatever scheme is called on whatever play.

And when you design your entire offense philosophy around the QB getting rid of the ball in roughly 2 seconds, it further alleviates pressure on the OLinemen to hold their blocks longer than necessary.

Bottom line, the OL coaching and the offensive philosophy are both conducive to each other. This offense will thrive and only improve the more healthy it gets.

We can literally score lots of points on anybody in the nation with this offense. And after so much time watching an offense from the Mesozoic Era, it almost makes me want to cry from joy to witness this new LSU Offense.

re: I know it's been said before but the job James Cregg has done with this offensive line
There are a lot of reasons for this

We are spreading the field more which limits pass rushers

We are keeping teams on their toes, and their back heal with tempo and play selection.

We are punishing blitzed by attaching the vacated space, and in general we are getting the ball out a lot faster

This means teams can't be as aggressive and we take our deep shots when they slack off on the pressure.

We are doing so much to help them that we weren't doing before.
