Waters is awesome.

CJ was on a different level.

Give Waters more time, he is by far the most talented Point we’ve had since CJ though and it says ALOT!

We’ll see....it’s the “it” factor he brings to the team like Chris did...this team revolves around him and he gives them confidence. It’s a beautiful thing.

Very good, special talent. But he’s not LSU Chris Jackson.

MAYBE; Denver Nuggets Abdul Rauf!

CJ was like watching magic. Seriously.

Waters is phenomenal though and exciting to watch. His passing ability and ability to drive through a crowd, take multiple big guys to the hoop and finish is awesome.

Waters does seem like more of a “team guy”. That is, Waters is not looking to score like CJ did. Waters seems to value the assist a little more than CJ.

One thing they both have in spades is handles.

Agreed...Jackson was a transcendent player.

Waters has left me with similar jaw dropping looks though.

He does. He had some jaw-dropping plays in that Michigan game that made me realize he wasn't your typical good player.

Jackson still remains the best player I've ever watched live. That said, I think Waters would be putting up numbers close to Jackson's if he played in that era. Brown had no reins in Jackson. He did whatever he wanted and took whatever shots he wanted when he wanted. Waters has proven he has the ability to be a big time scorer. However, he plays under control and in an era where defense is much more emphasized than it was in the late 80's.

For reference, in his Freshman season Jackson averaged 23 shots per game along with 6 FT attempts. He scored 30 ppg

Waters is averaging 17 ppg. But he's only averaging 12 shots per game and 4 FT attempts.

Give Waters 11 more shots (about half being 3's) and 2 more FT's and he would definitely approach Jackson's numbers

Waters reminds me of Steve Nash - the ability to score but also exceptional at getting others easy buckets.

Best all around PG I've ever seen at LSU. I missed out on Jackson.

Waters is such a complete PG and I cannot recall having more confidence in a PG to run the offense under control. Really hard to believe he's a freshman.

The atmosphere at Maravich assembly center was completely wild and electric when Action Jackson played. There is no comparison, I watched people go nuts over that guy. The games were unreal and the talent level back then was unreal. The kid Waters is a dynamic lil player, but it's just no comparison whatsoever.

Just go and watch one of his old highlights on youtube. You'll see the talent jump right out at you, just no comparison.

The confidence he shows on a scale of 1-10 is a 10. With 3 seconds left against aTm, he's smiling on the court and looking like LSU has the lead. Then he catches the ball a mile away and wins the game with two guys all over him.

CJ was the best college player I have ever seen. LSU had no real coaching under Brown just talent.

They talked about Tim Hardaway's killer crossover all the time, and he deserved it I'm not gonna hate, but I thought CJ's was better. CJ would break peoples ankles with the speed he did it at and then unleash a 35 foot jumper swishing all nets, all in rhythm. Lol
