I guess we're no longer a golf school either...LSU Golf fails to advance
Tigers missed the cut to move on to the championships. They were the top seed in the Pacific Regional but finished 6th with the top 5 advancing.

lol the team is getting everyone back from a top 8 regular season and has the #1 recruiting class coming in. our head coach also doesn't talk about gumbo every 30 seconds, so I think LSU is going to be okay.

Let's rewind the clock. How come we didn't get that chubby Reed fellow that just won the masters? I saw that he graduated from U High (in the damn back yard), so it got me to wondering why LSU didn't lock his arse up.

Are we the only school with one and dones in golf?
Kind of hard to replace Burns.
They just had a bad first round, it happens on courses you are not familiar with and those winds this time of the year in the Midwest (Okl St host) can really mess up your game.

Reed was a top recruit before Chuck Weinsted took over the program. LSU has a rich history in golf, but we sucked for a solid 20 years before Chuck saved the program. I believe reed was a recruit the year before Weinsted took over, and UGA was a top 5 program at the time.

Umm, while I don't disagree that playing on a new course can be a challenge, they were not playing in the Midwest. They were playing in the regional located in Stockton, CA and were the #1 seed (so technically the host) in that regional.

The national championship site is in Stillwater, OK; at I assume is Ok. St.'s home course.

It's pathetic to bring Orgeron into this thread.

Reed and LSU probably had a mutual disinterest. He was a piece of shite back then too.

Reed could care less about Baton Rouge and LSU. He initially went to UGA. Go check out their alumni on Tour. They were strong when he wascoming out of high school. LSU has just gotten relevant again in the last few years. Chuck doing a good job with team now

Winstead had already been there for a couple years. He took over 2004-05 season and Reed didn’t even finish U-High til 2007.

Well that’s just a lie. He was hired in 2006. Way to pull something completely out of your arse though
