I get the sense that Burrow has to be frustrated
Posted by BillF on 11/12/18 at 10:06 pm11351
There's absolutely no chance that this is the offense Orgeron and Ensminger sold him when they convinced him to come to LSU.
The approach in the Georgia game may have been closer to what he expected. But after the shutout against Alabama, Orgeron and Ensminger went into a shell like a turtle against Arkansas. They coached scared, like LSU has done for the last decade.
Just like Les. Run it and try to hang on by your fingernails. The more I see Orgeron and Ensminger, the more I see Les and Cam. Burrow was sold the same lie as the rest of us.

"We beat Georgia 36-16. Just do whatever we did that game."
If it were that simple, we probably wouldn't be having these conversations.

Seems like E is trying to force players into his design. Better OC's design an offense around the skills of the players they have.

My main concern with this coaching staff has always been rooted in their ability (or lack thereof) to adjust on the fly, whether it be during the game or during the season.
I said from the very beginning that we'd do well vs teams that simply don't have the personnel to match up against us. Vs teams that can match up, we'll typically struggle. UGA was clearly an outlier.

No, it's not simple. That's why Ensminger makes $800,000 a year. He must have spent most of it copying Cam's playbook.

I am sure this season is not going how he expected it. Trying to look like a good quarterback in an LSU offense just doesn't seem to happen very often. Just something in the air. Bad mojo.

That the offense went to a shell against Arkansas was the biggest disappointment for me. I didn't expect coach orgeron and Ensminger to coach scared like that. There is nothing worse than coaching scared in my book

Thanks, Gray. You just told us all how many games you played at quarterback and how well you understand the position. Kudos.
Our offense is bad, but let’s not go overboard here... LSU is in a good position and has had a good year. I’m sure Burrow has zero regrets about his decision to come to LSU and is having the time of his life as the starting QB for one of the Nation’s biggest programs,
Nothing at LSU is in “shambles.” The program is relatively stable and in a good spot. The big discussion is how do we get LSU from good to great.

Gray just isn't as over reactionary as you seem to be. It's a good thing to have some mentally stable people on this board
Just my opinion, of course, but I would offer this: As a former college quarterback, I can say it isn't much fun handing off over and over, and getting bounced around like a pinball when you try to find receivers who aren't open and big men are chasing you and trying to hurt you.

I've been in Burrow's shoes. I suspect Gray hasn't.
