I don’t trust Alleva to make a hire

I think the majority of us agree that the current coach we have is not the right guy (trying to put this as mildly as possible). However, if O does get the boot like so many of us want, do you have faith in Alleva redoing the whole process?
For me, no. This is one of those instances that you have to start from the top and work down. Coach O shouldn’t remain here, but the university needs to tie some loose ends first before going after the coach.

We can't afford to fire O because Alleva gave a local loser DL coach nobody wanted a huge buyout. That's just dumb on so many levels

Why the need for the buyout? Is nearly $4M a year not enough for a dream job? Did Alleva not learn from having to pay Les after being fired?
What happened during those talks when Alleva decided O was the guy? Did O hardball and say “I don’t know if I want the job anymore?” So many questions unanswered.
