I Can't Stand the Delusional Tiger Fans

Talking with a fellow fan that doesn't seem to understand that we lost alot of talent. He thinks that just because we are the LSU name brand that we should be better than everyone else. While I feel that's true to a certain extent, we have been out recruited the last few years by alot of other SEC teams on top of losing players to the draft. We actually are playing over our heads right now with all those factors and the injuries. We don't have a true star ace, and our most reliable 2nd guy is injured. After that we have some potential guys that have shown flashes of greatness, but are inconsistent. So when I tell this guy all that he doesn't seem to get it. He is literally still expecting us to beat NorthWestern St. and then blow out Oregon St! What will it take for those type fans to come down to reality a little bit and take off the purple and gold glasses?

We should recruit better and not be in this position. Yes, we are definitely down right now but it is also unacceptable.

I think we'll be good next year in football, but the perception of our coach as being a bafoon by the fans, the media, and finally the recruits, it hurts us. I get tired of the likes of guys that have completely wrote us off just because Orgeron is the coach. We actually still have talent in football and the only thing that concerns me is running back and depth at corner.

There is no reason for delusion. What you describe is reality and it doesn’t offer a lot of reason for optimism either. Even if the “inconsistent” talent have break out seasons in the future we don’t appear to have enough of them.
Mainieri has forgotten more baseball than the Rant knows collectively but I don’t understand his recruiting philosophy or his choices for his coaching staff.
