I am not going to defend anyone as all the teams are in the same boat...BUT

It is a lot easier to have consistency with no spring practice and you have the same coach and most of the players back. In LSU's case, whole new set of players, new scheme, new coordinator, and no spring practice to put in in place.

I know, not an excuse, but when you see defenses struggling all over the SEC, I wonder if this also didn't contribute greatly to LSU's case, and partly to others...Florida and Bama last night.

Florida and Alabama's defenses look like shite and they had returning starters and didnt change systems
