Obviously it would never happen...

But what if this year only, the SEC did like the NFL and you played your division teams Home and Away. That would give you a 12 game season. For a playoff, Division leader plays other division runner up for a 4 team play off. Winner is SEC Covid Champs. Division #3-#7's play the other ones equal as their "bowl".

I say this because I honestly do not see a CFP this year.

If we get full seasons, or full adjusted schedules they just set out, out of the P5 conferences, the NCAA will for sure have the CFP and collect that check for it.

Your system would be disastrous for title games

The CFP money for each conference is a huge factor in wanting to play this season.

NCAA has nothing to do with the CFP. That’s why college football will be played no matter what the NCAA does with the other fall sports championships.

Let me clarify my statement.

I don't think it happens because Pac 12 and Big 10 will cancel the rest of the season over a couple of positive tests. Look how fast they were quick fingered to make it conference only.

So that leaves the other 3. I just don't think the CFP will pick four teams from what's left after two major conferences cancel mid season
