Seems like he's getting a pass when some of the contracts are all on him. Pelini? Ed's contract is ridiculous.

Zero and it’s such a dumb question a coach should be able to hire his own coordinators and have enough know how to determine whether or not they’ll be decent at the job. All the AD does is sign the check.

Woodward had no choice but to extend Orgeron after 2019. The extent of the terms could have been more generous in LSU'S favor, but it is what it is.
If Woodward is going to play a show cause card, those terms are irrelevant.

You're missing the point. It's not that the HC didn't get to select his coordinator;it's the contract that was completely out of line with the market. That's on SW.

What in the hell do the contract numbers have to do with the product on the field? Orgeron should be 100% responsible for bringing in the coordinators he wants. If he can't be trusted to do that, then he shouldn't be the head coach.
I would imagine that O already had something in his own contract that said if he won a NC then he would get a contract bump of X amount of money. That is the case for most of them anyway.
Stop trying to deflect blame off of Orgeron. Whether we pay a DC 10 million or $1,000 we should expect results better than what we have seen. The money is irrelevant.

Woodward was probably pressed by some influential people after last year like "give him one more chance"..."he won us a national championship"..."he's one of us"..."he deserves the benefit of the doubt"...etc, etc, etc.
Well. Those accommodations are now worn out and his "one more chance" has probably turned into "many more". Its over. Someone posted on the other thread about having to kill the name (Gladiator?) and he's done a fine job of that himself by putting those final nails in the name coffin. He's just hurting the program by sticking around now.

Orgeron is killing his name such as it is. He cannot stay past this season and Woodward better have an awesome replacement who actually understands the game of football because Eddie clearly does not.

Every coaching hire since he’s been here has his finger prints on it for better or worse.
He has some winners but the marquee is with the football program and he’s had some doozies.
He needs to make a move there or his reputation is permanently etched

I have no problem with O’s extension after the title. It wasn’t really crazy, especially a 70% buyout based on $6m per year
It’s not like he gave him a 10-year deal or anything. 6 year contract is fairly standard/expected, who would ever imagined we’d be thinking buyout after only 2 years off a title?
