We’re gonna wanna do that a bit before we play Texas.

Yep. The idea that the offense should be kept secret is laughable.

Yeah.

Reps reps reps
Get em in

No need to run trick plays but run the offense

D-1 coaches have been around the game for a long time & quickly adjust. Thinking we need to open it up & prep for TU in game 2. The OC calling the plays is the difference. Keep the D off balance with an unexpected call based on the situation. Give the Longhorns something to think about & try to prepare for all.

. We'd have a good few drives, then the offense would go to sleep for entire quarters before putting the game away late.

For a good part of the season we were outscored in the 3rd. It showed flashes, but definitely would go into a lull going into half and coming out of it.

Almost like the other team adjusts and we were a bit slower to react.

We only used 30% all last season according to coach E.

mostly agree, but I'd argue that unpredictable playcalling is critical, and that brings with it some element of surprise - even if the actual plays are well known to the opponent.

I totally agree with that. It's all the more reason why you don't have to hide offense to surprise your opponent. Running your offense and running it well helps the element of surprise to be more effective.

When you do something well, you can be assured that the opponent will try to stop it, and that helps identify optimal times to break tendency. But the entire premise behind that is that you've allowed your opponent to see what you're doing . That's high level strategy.

Smart money says you conceal the majority of the playbook the entire season like we did last year.

That way next year we can really surprise the opponent. THAT is high level strategery

Whatever it takes to dominate the fricking opponent across the field from you. Anything less is bullshitee.

Tired of this idea that you need to hide your offense for it to be effective vs your tougher opponents.

Totally agree. Run your damn offense everyone will get better due to more reps and everyone will feel like they are contributing if they get involved.

Also the larger your playbook is the harder it is for the defense to know what the play is.

Great. In 11 years we have one offensive season of note that happened to feature two all pro WR's and yet another transfer QB developed by someone else.
