The thing is the QB's he recruited were rated high... Perriloux 5*, Lee 4* Jefferson 4* Harris 4* Jennings 4* Rettig 4*
So maybe it was development or putting them in a system they could succeed but according to recruiting they were above average

You're right there. It was much more development/system than recruiting....but there were some misses in there
Posted on 9/13/19 at 11:18 pm to SportTiger1
Development/system/recruiting all fall under the head coach’s purview. Dude just plain sucked at it.

He won a championship and brought another team to a championship which only the top 1% of coaches can say.
I really would love to see what a great coach is to you if you think miles sucks as being a coach

When he brought in Crowton we didn't have a QB who could run his system, then he brought Cameron in and Cameron just sucked i believe at the college ranks of coaching
Posted on 9/13/19 at 11:25 pm to Rtowntiger
Like I said, nobody is going to disagree that he had flaws. But to sit here acting like he was a shite coach (just read the first 5 pages) is ridiculous.
He was at LEAST above average, you just didn't like his style, so whatever

Dude if you think Miles was a good coach go suck him off as Kansas. I think he was the benefit of a great environment, circumstance, great in-state talent, and awesome defense coordinating. But do I think he is a good coach? frick no!
Posted on 9/13/19 at 11:31 pm to Rtowntiger
You have every measurable metric about his career at LSU against you and your shitty opinion
Posted on 9/13/19 at 11:34 pm to Rtowntiger
See where I said about ignorance.... No point in arguing with someone who has shown themselves to be stupid.

Let's pretend the best coach in college football wasn't in our division and we didn't have to play Saban every year...
Do you not agree that we would have won at least 1 more Nat champ and 2 or 3 SEC titles? Alabama knocked us out of contention multiple times on both.
Posted on 9/13/19 at 11:37 pm to BeeFense5
That’s fine I hope your winning % metric makes sleep better at night. I can’t tell you how happy I am him and his good winning percentage but no hopes of winning NC arse is gone. This year we have hope.

Inferiority mentality. Not healthy nor beneficial.

he made several changes, I remember when Pelini left we had a dual DC situation and our Defense had a significant drop off. He brought in Chavis and that was a big deal at the time.
Posted on 9/13/19 at 11:52 pm to Srobi14
Well I was referring to offense philosophy but hiring a good DC after your fire another DC doesn’t define significant change.

What, logic?
He's the best coach in college football history and happens to be in our division.
Replace him for those years and we have a completely different result. Sometimes you just have to tip your hat.
Did you forget that Alabama ran a very similar offense to Les' "run heavy I" until maybe 2 or 3 years ago? Everyone seems to over look how similar their offense was to ours scheme-wise.

What's your criteria to be a "good coach"?
Because if winning pct is not #1 On your list you're just being obtuse
Is O a "good coach"?

Well I’m not blind to winning %. I can tell a good coach from game management, clock management, player development, and striving to be the best. And yes, as if right now O is a good coach because unlike Les...he adapted.

Nick Saban did this at LSU in nearly one third of the time (4 years), with a 75% winning percentage,
Miles winning record at LSU was 77%.

And he actually won 3 west titles/co-titles.

The other guy won only 2.

So nothing factual...got it
quote:so you're still on this 'adapting' thing after its been pointed out to you that Les ran at least 4 different offenses at LSU.
And yes, as if right now O is a good coach because unlike Les...he adapted.
And obviously, actual accomplishments don't matter. Completely dishonest
