How is Max Johnson 6’4-6’5 and still getting so many balls batted down?

I understand if that was Nuss who is a lot shorter but at Max’s height, that should not happen that many times.

His throwing motion is generally pretty slow.

He has slow lateral movement, very little vertical leaping ability & really slow throwing motion where he has to wind up to get something on his throws.

He’s throwing lasers 1 foot above the line’s heads.

Great for short throws, but high chances for swats and bat downs.

No lob or loft to any of his throws.

His decision making is slow and he's late to make the throw.

I noticed that as well…maybe he is not seeing throwing lanes well, or maybe he is throwing late.

This too. He also struggles with pre snap reads especially when it comes to recognizing blitzes & where the blitzers are coming from.

Throwing lasers & Max Johnson don't go together in the same sentence.

No pocket awareness coupled with a horrendous O line is a recipe for disaster.

There’s a defender standing 2 ft in front of him jumping with his arms up. He throws it directly at him.

He’s been throwing a good portion of balls at the receivers toes. The frustrating part is many times they are wide open, and stops them from YAC even when they go down to scoop them up. I thought in the UCLA game it was from nerves and over gripping the ball, but I’m starting to worry about his throws after it continued last night.
