How is it possible Alleva hired Will Wade & Ed Orgeron?

Within 4 months of each other, Will Wade & Ed Orgeron were hired by the same man, Joe Alleva, to be head coaches. How is this possible? Can anyone explain this? It’s baffling. Obviously, different criteria were used for each hire.

I don't understand how he hired Ed O, a coach that just wanted to be here, after also hiring Johnny Jones, a coach that just wanted to be here.
