How good was that 2009 Super Regional...
Posted by CalRipkenJr on 9/3/19 at 12:12 pm120
AL and NL batting leaders both were on display that weekend...until Rendon damn near broke his ankle on the LF bullpen mound!
Several other big leaguers in the box score like Nola, Mahtook, Holt, Schimpf, Ranaudo, Coleman etc. but I thought it was cool that both MLB league leaders played in that series at The Box!

If memory serves, Minnesota was in the Box that year or year before. I believe Erik Decker was in the OF.

Nola is hitting 274 in 58 games with the Mariners. Got a hit yesterday against my Cubs

Sad how far we've fallen. We had 2 starters below .300 and one was at .290. This past year only a couple starters were above .300 and even one hit like .180. This really shows we're no longer at the top in baseball.

How could baseball be on your mind after that show the offense put on Saturday night?

Saturday was fun and I look forward to next Saturday but baseball is ALWAYS on my mind...different strokes for different folks...it's not like I'm interested in soccer

This was prior to the last bat reduction. No doubt we had more talent but they changed the bats, and the park in Omaha after this season
