Keep your head up and be positive, man.

We went from awful to elite from 2002 to 2003. It can be done quickly if you get the right pieces in place. (Especially now with the transfer portal and NIL)

not as long as you think or as you’re hoping so you can sit and virtue signal

I mean, a football field worth of yards is a pretty big distance

It's not virtue signaling, it's being objective. We want to say we're close to having a top-5 defense, let's get in the top 50 first.

Depends on what we have in the trenches....and if we can get at least 1 elite safety and CB. LB should be fine with our additions and what we have coming back. Need 1 dog at Safety, and 1 dog at corner, and at least 1 dog at DT. Whether they are already on the team, or transferring in, who knows.

I do miss the days of a top 10 defense!

Watching that TX/OSU game reminded me of some old LSU defenses. They were nasty!

Sage Ryan is gone. He was a veteran, probably set the tone for the backfield.

Perhaps a serious, aggressive player taking up the leadership role on defense can completely change the attitude of the backfield, and the rest of the defense.

That can happen quickly. It can happen during the season even.

I thought the defense was kinda close, just had a really shitty attitude on the field.

So, changing that could dramatically improve this offense next season.
