has ANYONE seen this so-called IRON-CLAD CONTRACT? 1) No Contract is iron-clad-- there has to be adequate consideration, or it can vitiated on public policy legal theories. . .there are many other possible grounds to recend. Someone make the contract PUBLIC, and let experts APPLY THEIR EXPERTISE. Could be a very easy out; or, could be a very difficult way out; that works both ways.

That buyout was Alleva protecting himself. I'm absolutely convinced of it.

How can this be construed as "Alleva protecting himself"? If it turned out to be a bad hire, having an unreasonable buyout would only make Alleva look worse - and therefore easier to fire.

Jump to now. It's obvious that the hire was worse than even the worst naysayers expected. The buyout makes it almost impossible to remove Orgeron immediately and unlikely after the season. The blame falls on Alleva, and people are furious.

It was definitely a calculated risk on Alleva's part.

However, he's gambling that LSU wouldn't fire him because of the Orgeron hire without firing Orgeron as well. The buyout, of course, makes it far more difficult to do that.

To me, it's the only way such a ridiculous buyout makes any sense.

The buyout needs to be investigated for ethical violations by Alleva and King.

They gone. With Cause.

This. Obviously, Alleva didn't expect O to possibly only win 3 games this season. If he wins 6-7, fans are pissed, but give him another year due to the buyout. By giving O another chance, Alleva gets to stay till his hire is deemed a complete failure. It blew up in his face last night losing to Troy.

I would check to see if there any deep state ties with Scott Ballard and perhaps a midget head coach a lil over 4 &1/2 hours from the LSU Campus up I-59.

When was this huge buyout know to us commoners? I'm assuming we got the bait and switch as I can't believe the fans and others would have stood for such a stupid program wrecking decision.

So, Joe basically outsmarted himself. Seems plausible but I think there were many other hands in the cookie jar.

They knew LSU was going to be down this year because of youth and attrition and the fans would call for O's firing...they figured LSU would need stability and not emotion driven decisions until a few recruiting classes could right the ship...

So they put in a hefty buyout in his contract...simple

This is some next-level, ignorant bull shite.

There's no fricking way, even if they believed it was a rebuild (which they either didn't or lied about it), they would have any confidence in the rougarou coach from Larose with a losing record to actually turn it around.
