How do buyouts of this magnitude actually work?

Does TAF have a warchest for contingencies like this or do they actively raise the money from the top donors? Maybe it’s just me but even if I was worth $50-100M+ there is no way I would pony up a mil to help fire a football coach.

See that's why you don't understand lol. Between donation tax writeoffs and being ungodly rich, you stop actually caring about cost and only care if that investment will give you enjoyment.
