Ika was mauling in the middle. He looked better than shelvin and may end up playing more snaps.

Shelvin is steadily progressing and will be a mainstay in the NT rotation this season but let’s face it, this kid Apu Ika is just on another level. You can take it to the bank the decision has already been made, Ika is your starter with Shelvin behind him. What a find he is turning out to be. The summer heat should get him down to around 340lbs from the 355-360 he’s at right now and he will be ready to go day 1 just like Stingley.

Glad you can make this decision after watching a scrimmage

Orgeron said Ika and Shelvin were "co-starters". Ika looked very strong in the middle and could start at the start of the season imo. Maybe the playbook somewhat holds him back, but I doubt NT has to really think that much anyways haha.

It would be really nice to have them both pushing each other and being interchangeable at the same level of play.

I did watch. And how many times have we had a “superstar” emerge from a spring game and end up doing nothing. I hope he’s the best d lineman ever, I’m just saying it makes no sense to make these proclamations of fact after watching a scrimmage. No one here has seen one practice, but after a scrimmage you’re gunna say he will start over shelvin.

I only watched the first half but was Ika only going against Cole Smith or did he also play against the 1s?

I think it's pretty safe to say that Ika is going to be a stud for LSU.

Remember the recruiting sites said we "lost out" on the DT from Louisiana? Ika is just beginning to show them and some fans where they fcked up.

For a guy who should still be in High School, very impressive.
