How connected is F. King? Any rumblings of a possible departure for him?

I don’t have any sources and I am not connected. I can only use plain logic.

Reinstating Coach Wade and relieving Joe Alleva AND F King Alexander within a very short time frame is too much to expect. If I’m not mistaken, Alleva’s contract ends within a year so letting him go has less financial impact than F King Alexander whose contract ends in 2-3 years.

The reinstatement of Will Wade and firing of Alleva probably has more to do with saving the funding campaign recently launched by LSU. It is my understanding that the funding campaign was not well received until Alleva was gone.

So I am not expecting anything to be done about Alexander in the short term.

They are on a short leash as everyone knows. Various meetings/lunches were cancelled yesterday to tend to what is expected to take place. Fing is JBE’s guy, which could save his job. Today is D-day

He's not going anywhere, at least for now... Much more difficult/political removing a President compared to a AD.

Seems so.

Assumption here is that at least Alleva is gone. I'm not reading Alleva's imminent dismissal in the tea leaves, much less a FKing firing. Boy, how I hope I'm wrong though.

I didn’t say that he was brought in by JBE. I said that he is his guy. Closely connected

Honestly I don’t think Alexander is in jeopardy until Edwards is gone. He won political points for going along with the absurd “we’re gonna cancel LSU football” talking point trying to get Edwards budget passed. Which contributed to the credit down rating of the university, btw.

He’s safe for now.

FKing is a left wing democrat. This was obviously done as a political maneuver by Jindal. (you vote for my bill, support me in this area and i'll put your guy in at LSU) (This is the whole problem with the political based system that ties LSU with state politics-Id love to know how much the black lives matters guy donated to someone's campaign to lead the BOS, but that's for another thread. )

JBE isn't going to remove a democrat crony. We need a new governor to make this happen, and hopefully one that will look out for LSU's best interest, not his own political ambitions when making appointments. We can dream right?

Politics will always play a part. It's still amazing how this guy chooses to handle stuff. I'm glad Alleva will be gone, but he was nothing but a yes man. Everyone saw that email, it was a direct order from King to suspend Wade immediately. This is King's shite show.

He got a raise and extension within the last few months by this same Board. He's fine

So then, what you're saying is, we need to keep withholding our donations until F*King is axed as well.

You heard him, boys. Don't open that wallet until that whole place is fumigated.

He is pretty tight with the governor. I’m sure that goes a long way.

FKing is very politically connected. He supposedly had a Washington DC job lined up if Hillary had won the presidency. But when she lost that fell through and so he's stuck at LSU.

Bittersweet.

It's incredibly important for the vocal majority of LSU fans to keep the heat on F*king after Joe is gone. But JBE is not dumb. He'll use firing F*King as a political tool to win back some votes as it gets closer to his reelection.

At least that's what I would do if I was a politician.

I don't think JBE will fire him to win votes. I think he's too valuable to democrats politically. But i think his opponent will certainly use that to gain support.

Not entirely true. Alleva was incompetent in his own right. He may be a puppet but his inability to avoid bad PR is an inherent skill he has. The second paragraph of that release announcing Wade’s return is something that never would have been approved by an AD with any PR savvy, and if he listened to any PR flack he had (never mind that Munson isn’t good at PR and that’s his job) that paragraph still never would have made it into the release. It was petty and childish, another tantrum thrown by an AD who can’t handle his own emotions.

What facts do you base this on?
Jindal jammed the F. King Alexander's hire down the throats of everyone at LSU who expressed concern about it.
JBE hasn't fired him yet, but hasn't controlled the the BOS until within the last year.
You guys are stretching to make a political argument that seems unfounded.

Here's a post by a well informed poster. Jindal gave us Alexander and Alleva. it's only within the past year that JBE was able to finally have his appointees to the BOS controlling the number of votes. Love how everyone tries to blame JBE for Jindal's failures. Jindal took a $2 billion state surplus to a $2 billion state deficit in 8 years, but everyone wants to blame JBE for the state's failures.
