How can a team be this bad at zone coverage?

Last year and this year has been consistently horrendous. We know Miss state vertical game and we will have to clean up some zone. Stingley and Ricks should get some opportunities in this one.

Did you watch the Memphis game? Rogers looked terrible throwing deep. State spent the entire game dinking and dunking vs a very mediocre defense.

The LBs and Burns have been the issues with the coverage busts. If Ward is back that fixes a lot of problems right there. Supposedly he will be. McGlothern looked good coming back last night. Flott has been much improved this season. The key is to play a lot of Dime and see if Leech will run the ball enough to make them stop. Based on what I saw yesterday, he won’t.

look, don't care who is in our safeties are disappearing. You are supposed to see S's all over the place and hear their name often.

We never seem to hear from them unless it is someone noting that while a TE is over here... they are way over there.

You don't see them stuffing a run like Stephens. You don't hear about them rotating over and disrupting a pass in just the nick of time like Delpit. They don't thump anyone like Landry. They don't line up one on one like Adams. The only time you see them is trying to bump a RB out of bounds 20 yds downfield, which they don't and Clark shows up for a tackle from behind. 3 games out of 3 we have TE's scoring TDs that think the rapture happened post-snap because they are so alone.

Our S's are magicians. But not in a good way. Their only trick is a disappearing act.
