Auburn had a top 10 rush offense coming into this game at 240 yds/game.

LSU held them to 130 rush yards. 70 of that was on one play.

LSU held Auburn to 11 shutout drives with 6 3-and-outs.

Completely dominant performance by the defense. Points-wise, Auburn scored off of LSU's offensive and special teams mistakes.

Auburn got a touchdown off a mistake and didn't score another one until the end of the game.

Now people are stressing over the offense instead of the defense.

Yep. Great job by the defense.

Also correct is that if LSU had played a halfway decent game without the turnovers and bonehead/bogus penalties, then it's not even close.

On that 70 yard play credit Delpit for not giving up and forcing the Auburn runner out at the 9 yard line. That was a big play because the defense held them to 3 instead of 7.

LSU D has been stout for 2.25 games now. Much improvement.

now let's look at reality:

Auburn's real running back didn't play
Auburn has a glorified high school qb right now

our defense is still mediocre

Auburn was lucky to stay in the game.

They lost and are just another team broken by LSU.

Aww boo hoo. Ya know, there's more to the running game than just the RB. Auburn had 0 lanes Saturday to run.

They have all year

You're a glorified retard. Go root for a different team, you don't deserve this one.

The defense has been good against the run all year. Part of that is because the other teams had to throw to keep up with LSU’s offense and big leads. This game proved that the run defense is legit.

I think you need to understand what the word “reality” means, because you do not.

Auburn’s “real” running back did, in fact, play some.
No one is saying our D is elite, but again I will point you to the dictionary for your second word to learn. Mediocre implies average to below average. I would say any defense in the top 25% of all of CFB is not defined as not very good.

Have a great day moron!
