Need to move Ward back to FS, too much miscommunication back there right now, we need a veteran back there.

Think Brooks and Foucha will be fine. But Sage Ryan will be picked on

Ward, Brooks, Foucha, Bernard Coverse, Richardson, and Garner need to play the whole game

So, getting thin but secondary still in tact. Impressive, all things considered.

Sage Ryan needs to observe and learn from the sideline this game

I’d leave ward where he is - he’s making plus plays there

House seems to be pushing all the right buttons. I just hope we don't get two scores behind in this one.

Don't think we win a shootout with the Vols.

You’re right, he’s great attacking in the box but those breakdowns on the backend cannot happen vs Tennessee. You need a QB back there to counter Tennessee’s QB. Brooks can take care of the box.

Trus but I’m not sure communication was his strong suit back there to begin with - he has experience but I’m not sure who our qb is back there - at this point I’m for putting players where they excel and fill the gaps around them but I agree it is crucial that someone step up and get everyone in line back there.

And I think Mac was right Saturday - a lot of those busted coverages were coached into them given how aub’s qb had been playing - they adjusted before we did but we got it right in the end

But it’s a binary choice, do you rather have Ward, who’s been a very good FS during his career or someone like a Sage Ryan who obviously isn’t ready for that responsibility? Ward was moved up partly because our LBs struggled early on but now with Perkins and Baskerville getting a lot more time along with Brooks, Ward isn’t needed as much there as he is on the back end. If that offense gets rolling the likelihood of us patching it up and stopping it cold the way we did vs Auburn is next to 0.

Our strongest lineup seems to be Richardson and Garner at CB, Ward at nickel Converse and Brooks at safety. Ryan has only been so-so in dime but until we get Burns or Banks back he appears to be the best option. We definitely can't take many more injuries though.

CB- Converse
CB- Garner
CB- Richardson
S- Brooks
S- Ward

I thinks it’s damned if you do or damned if you don’t. I think ward’s presence up close along with those you mentioned increases the probability of turnovers And if I had to pick 2 turnovers over 3-4 busted coverages I think I’d lean to the turnovers and trust the d to tighten when needed.

Last week I looked at my dad and said we have to have 2 turnovers on plus field or a defensive score to win when we were down 17. Strip sack td came shortly after and we still had to have the brooks pick.

Completely get what you are saying I just think that the offense is not going to be self sufficient until Howard if ready (hopefully next year but possibly the next) so give me turnovers and points from the d until then - makes for a roller coaster ride though.

I don’t disagree with any of what you’re saying either, maybe Foucha catches on quick and we’re buttoned up back there.

I don’t mean move him because he’s not playing great, I’m saying we need help on the backend where he has experience and success. We won’t survive all those blown coverages we had vs Auburn against Tennessee and Ward can help a lot with that problem.
