Missing an LSU-Alabama game for a wedding sounds like what Hell would be like.

This is why I got married in July. Even if it's a bye week eventually your damn anniversary is going to be on the biggest game of the season.

I actually had to go to a wedding the day of the 2015 game. And what was worse, it was out in the rural Texas hill country with poor cell phone reception.

The game didn’t kick off until after the ceremony so during the reception I would run out to my car every few minutes and listen to a very staticky 870 AM.

I probably spent more time in my car than at the reception, but I did have time to work in one or two dances with an otherwise very irritated wife.

My only request for my wedding was that we didn’t get married when it’s especially hot as hell outside. The venue had 2 openings and one was during the Bama game. We got married in August in Lafayette and I gladly sweat my arse off.

Is this story meant to make you sound cool or something? Texas Hill Country wedding and you're running out to a car to listen to a football game?

Where do I indicate that? It’s just something that happened. Take it or leave it.

I missed the 2011 GotC for a wedding. Recorded the game with 3 hours added time, disconnected from everything, threatened the life of anyone who even thought about spoiling it, and went and had a blast on the dance floor.

I watched the game when I got home, and had the same experience I would have live, just at 4 am.

Um yeah!! I would have done the same. Or stayed at the hotel to watch it on tv.

I asked my wife after the Auburn game what plans we had for the 9th and she said we had plans but wouldn't tell me. I told her about the game and she said we would be somewhere where I could watch it.

So... If we lose it is my fault for breaking the routine. Lol

Have a memorial service for a friend that afternoon. Will have to DVR and shut off my group texts and watch that evening.

You should adopt my rule. I will NEVER attend a wedding on a day in which LSU is playing a football game. I don't care who you are or where LSU is playing.

Honestly I'd be fine with it. I can't even watch the big LSU games because it stresses me out too much. I usually look for something to preoccupy myself during the game so I can try to stop thinking about it. Now that I'm typing this out I'm realizing I probably need psychiatric help

Only person I'd go to a wedding on that date for is my brother. And god dammit would I yell at him for the rest of my life over it. Anyone else oh well. It's not the end of the world to miss their wedding.

ETA: Thankful that my girlfriend and I have an understanding that during football season which is only 3-4 months out of the year, those games take precedent on Saturday. Any other weekend out of the year I'm willing to let her stuff take precedent.

Depending on how the night before in Vegas goes, I could be getting married on the 9th.
