I seriously hope I didn't kick the hornet's nest here. Please, please don't let this even remotely resemble a certain other debate that shall remain nameless.

Its because QB's won't test HB7 like they do Brooks.

Seriously? First of all, you're debating defensive backs. Secondly, one is clearly better than the other. It's just hilarious how so many Tiger fans suffer from long term memory loss. For the first 6+ games of the season, TM7 was the best football player on the field. Now some think Brooks should be playing ahead of him.

smh im certainly glad the coaches make these decisions and not our delusional fanbase... There's a reason Brooks has been passed up by incoming recruiting classes

Do you think that HB is a better cover corner than Brooks?

Brooks has been looking great. but Mathieu would start on every team in college football.

I apologize. In the future, I'll refrain from asking any questions that may approach questioning our coaches' decisions. Can I ban myself.?

Brooks is playing Tyrann's old role because Tyrann is mostly playing corner right now. It appears Simon is mostly in on dime right now

They will both play a lot. Hello, Dime Package.

We are so damn good in our dime package. Once we get the momentum with a pick, Tiger Stadium is going to get out of hand and we are going to roll over the Razorbacks. Friday can't get here quick enough!!!

TM7 starts over Brooks for a reason.

Funny how for so long the myth was that Miles favored seniors no matter how much better underclassmen were. Now the same bunch of idiots is pinning for Brooks to start over someone who was in the Heisman conversation only a few weeks ago.

Besides, given Ark's offense, they will both be on the field for most of the defensive snaps.

You guys are way too critical of Mathieu. Typical non-football understanding fan that thinks that "I haven't seen Mathieu cause a turnover lately, and Tennessee beat him for 3 whole catches." Do ya'll realize how hard it is to cause the amount of turnovers that Mathieu has? There was reason that he got so much attention earlier this year. Also, even without getting credit for the big plays, Mathieu played a big role in 2 key Bama sacks. One keeping Bama out of the redzone, the other the overtime sack. Mathieu blitzed off of the edge and the QB got scared of TM7 and ran up into the middle of the defense. Against Western Kentucky Mathieu was an overturned replay from forcing another fumble, and yet again recovering it himself.

Brooks has been great, but it also seems as if Chavis has decided to blitz him from one side while having the defense focus on Mathieu being a decoy on the opposite side.

So Honey Badger or Brooks? I'll take 'em both!!!

I dont care who they put on the field as long as someone, DB, LB or otherwise makes sure to pick of the dang RB out of the backfield.

Brooks has turned out to be a hell of a player with a nose for the ball, much like HB7. In fact, Brooks has made more big plays than HB7 since HB7 got suspended. He's been quiet since he came back from suspension.
