I think people are down voting you because we remember the rest of otts lsu career. He was as dominate his frosh year against batters. But Hess has way more upside

Ott is more like Newman than Hess

No offense to Ott but Ott and Hess should never be used in the same sentence especially as a comparison.
Ott was crafty, Hess is freaking nasty.
I mean I'm watching Hess as ex baseball player and saying there is absolutely nothing a hitter can do with a fastball at 95, on the black, with movement. THEN for fun he can drop a nasty curve on you at any time. Just sick

Ott set the lsu save record as a frosh that stood for like 18 years. He also had 6 walks all season.
Newman? He had 4 walks in just the last game.
Matty Ott his frosh year was the most dominate closer in lsu history. 16 saves in 1 season. He deserves respect for that.

Ott had a great freshman season, he had great command and kept hitters off balance.
Hess is truly dominant. The type of dominance that translates pretty well as a closer for a looonnnnggg time.
How his stuff holds up inning after inning next year is a bit of a question. But this aint next year, and out of the pen his big arse is scaring the shite out of the hitters.
