we failed to run the ball all game, thats a fact. So when the game is on the line why do we use half of our plays trying to run the ball, yardage blah blah our oline was getting no push upfront the entire game and you think its gonna get better on the goaline when the LOAD the box, terrible play calling in another classic E fashion

Edit: not to mention on FOURTH down, cutting the field in half, laughable just handing the game to them, i've never liked rollout plays.

Why don’t our guys dive over the line like LF, and Clyde used to do. If the DL dives at the legs to create penetration, why not go over the top?

Another example of how to do it with Myles would be like how 40 YO, 5’11 Brees did last night by jumping and extending over the top briefly to break the plane.

O was running clock to be sure Mizzou did not get ball back. No trust in our D

They were setting up that third down play all along, Marshall was lined up in the backfield all three plays.

If Brennan executes a little better, we walk in with a touchdown with little time left on the clock and they all look like genuises.

True, our running backs were getting hit at or behind the line of scrimmage almost every run. Why would you keep running

Then if Myles throws a pick or takes a sack, everyone is on here crying about how we should've pounded the ball in from the goal line, especially since Mizzou had three defensive linemen out.

Absolutely, let your big athletic receivers go up and make plays. I guarantee Marshall and Gilbert will win more battles than they lose in the redzone

Gilbert was a non factor after getting injured and they'd have doubled Marshall.

I think that trying to over think short yardage plays is a waste of time, and hind sight is always 20/20. I have no problems with trying to run the ball to get one yard.

This is playing the result. If they throw the ball and get a sack or a pick the coaches are getting roasted for that too. LSU should be able to pick up a yard against Missouri.

If we can't get one lousy yard over the paper thin Mizzou D line then we don't deserve to win.

Inexcusable.

and we still couldn't run the ball all game, thinks for proving my point, the fade thing is just an example u can also just run slants every play idk im not payed to be calling plays but I could see that we weren't gonna pound it in like LSU teams of the past, someone just needs to let E know that

you have 3 3/4 quarters that prove otherwise.

IF Carter catches the TD pass the game is over and we win.
IF the O line doesn’t allow the FG to be blocked all we need is a FG to win the game on the final drive.
IF our O line blocks just a little TDP scores from the 1 and we win the game.
IF we get a little creative at calling plays in the red zone we win the game.
IF the freaking defense doesn’t give up 45 points we win the game.
IF you thought of those things before your post you wouldn’t sound so ignorant.

There's four factors in those play calls.

1. Low risk attempts at scoring

2. Running clock to prevent them from scoring again.

3. Giving their defense the look of Marshall in the backfield to set up the 4th down play.

4. Going against tendencies.

I think that by this point, Gilbert was hurt. At least according to CEO’s press conference yesterday.

Thanks for proving my point that the issue was execution and not playcalling

he was lined up at TE blocking on the 1st and 2nd down run plays. unless he re-injured himself on those plays, I think it's nuts that Carter was in 3rd and 4th down.
