Heisman Five
1. Jalen Hurts, Oklahoma
We've been giving this some thought, and we've come to the conclusion that Lincoln Riley knows how to coach up QBs. Just remember, you heard it here first.
2. Tua Tagovailoa, Alabama
Tagovailoa has more passing yards, passing TDs and a better completion percentage through two games this year than he did last season.
3. Joe Burrow, LSU
Over their past six games, Burrow has completed a higher percentage of passes, thrown for more yards and tossed the same number of TDs as Tagovailoa.
4. Trevor Lawrence, Clemson
It's not been a great start statistically, but look at some of the throws Lawrence made against Texas A&M, and it's obvious a breakthrough performance is on the horizon. He's just biding his time. Perhaps next week, considering his opponent (Syracuse) just gave up 63 to Maryland.
5. Jonathan Taylor, Wisconsin
He's rushed for 100 yards in seven straight games. The last Big Ten runner to get to eight in a row was ... Jonathan Taylor, back in 2017. Before that, however, none had done it since Ezekiel Elliott had 15 straight, ending in 2015.

Look who Tua is throwing against this year

I never knew beating sisters of the poor was calculated so highly when determining a heisman.
Burrow has the defining heisman moment already against the number 6 team in the nation on the road in a hostile environment.
What a load.

It has ALWAYS been that way. There’s a reason for the “Heisman Curse” in Bowl games. It’s sometimes the only real defense they’ve faced.

I don't disagree, but I believe more points should be given for dominating a top 6 team on the road out of conference with a defining play at the end than beating the shite out of duke and the other shite teams Oklahoma and Alabama have faced.
It is name only of that is the case in this particular instance and name alone.
Burrow has earned the number one spot as of today in my eyes until someone does better against as good of competition. It will play itself out of course and won't matter in the end.

It’s called a system and at some point the Heisman voters need to start accounting for how OU’s offensive system props up their QBs.

It won’t matter if we win out. Texas will take care of OU. If we win out it’ll come down to Joe vs Trevor

And why exactly is he behind Tua then?
