I had written off Hal as a facter at the plate but with 3 hits and great playing at 3rd,I was pleasantly surprised. Before yesterday he was a sure strike out at nearly every bat. Let's hope this is a sign of good things to come.

It was good to see him have a great day. Three hits and sparkling defense! It was ironic that the table was set for Dups by Hughes and Broussard.

Agree. You won’t hear that from a lot on here. Broussard is playing better as well.

was very glad to see him lead...saw him on the bench a few times and he was just dead, got his chance and he showed up....he is a solid infielder also...ill get eaten up for this but i feel that he is a much smarter middle infielder than smith, just hitting hasnt been hughes strong point

I’ve said before that Hal Hughes reminds me of KRob.

Kramer was terrible at the plate his freshman year, but always had a good glove. Couldn’t get a hit, struck out constantly and was eventually benched. Then it clicked for him and he became a star in our lineup.

I see Hal becoming a great tiger before he leaves.

I’d say Marceaux, and Peterson had more surprising performances. But love the way Hughes, and Brousard have been stepping up.

That play in foul territory was fantastic.

It will be interesting to see what lineups they decide moving forward. Does Hughes stay at 3rd or does Reid go back there?
I still don’t think you can give up on Dugas.

I think Hughes at 3B is our best option defensively. Beloso back at 1B when he is healthy. Reid to DH. Switch between Dugas and Broussard at 2B depending on matchups/etc.

I do hope he finds his place here so as not to be tempted to transfer to K-State to play for his father and with younger brother Dominic.

I'm not advocating benching Reid but it does seem like he's been slumping lately. Seems to have struck out a lot more too. I guess it's really just that he was on such a tear early on that he's more leveled out.

As much as this board shits in players who are struggling, they are quick to give them props when they turn it around.

I was happy to see him get those hits but his glove was remarkable.

Here’s to you Hal
Keep up the good work man
