Hate to say it but the team looked better without Cam Thomas

I saw good ball movement and motion on offense. And defense looked much better. Coincidence?

I hope Cam noticed it as well. He has been more patient the last two games. Only took 4 shots in first half the other night. It’s good to have him as the closer because it always come down to last 5 mins.

Have to disagree on this take. Cam is a special player who can get you 25+ a game. Team played better defensively against OM but I’m not sure that relates to Cam not playing.

Yes. Great take. The team is better without their best player.
Unreal.

Definitely I noticed this as well

The team plays playground ball with him.

It’s not always about the best player, but team cohesion. Time will tell if Wade is still tweaking the lineup.

Bad take. Yes offense flows better with Gaines/Cook at point. They also give more effort on D which is contagious. Has nothing to do with Cam. No team is better without 25 ppg. Offense is more stagnant with Smart at point. Can't drive and dish.

I agree we should tell Cam to take a hike

The team looked better because they consistently played high-energy suffocating defense all night, everyone contributed, and Watford & Smart went through spells where they simply didn't miss.
All of this could have still occurred with Thomas on the floor.

No it’s not. The three other top players have played together longer and mesh better right now. They move better without the ball and know what to expect from each other.
But if we are to maximize our talent, Wade needs to get Thomas in sync with the others. The more they play together the better the chance that will happen.
Remember too, Thomas is a true freshman and is just learning. It takes time and unfortunately we are having a short season. Hopefully too this ankle thing won’t slow his progress.

We beat Florida without Myles Brennan and Jamar chase too.
Maybe we should just not pay the best players at their position. That makes sense huh?

It was very evident.
However it shows ego dynamics.

You always play the best players, but a team can beat five better individuals.
But it’s about the end result, and the best results come when you mold the five individuals into a team.
That’s what we need to do to win a championship and advance in the tournament.

LSU was 5th in the country in offensive efficiency with cam Thomas in the lineup.
If that’s playground ball than I want every offense we ever run to be playground ball.

The team started out on fire.
Coach hinted it was the result of Manning leaving.
Less controversy, they practiced better. Brought practice energy into the game for the first time this season.
Don't start shite. The Coach, team, and fans believe in Cam.
Hope he stays another year.

Man wonder what Manning's problem was. Sounds like the whole team was ready for him to get out

The defense looking better wasn’t a surprise, I think Gaines is a better defender than Thomas.
The offense was not as good. They “moved the ball” more, but there was a lot of passing around the perimeter without much to truly threaten the defense. Warford and Smart did an awesome job of winning their individual matchups, though. Kudos to them

Cam is the best player offensively. What is very noticeable is that this team is pretty deep. We can have guys go down, rest guys, and have a push late season. Its something that makes LSU very dangerous this season.
