His offense sucked

His offense had success at other places. It wasn't going to be successful here with O's insecure micromanaging.

That was more or less what was insinuated in the first post and it makes a lot of sense.

Rick might be worth talking football with if he could lose the axe he feels he must grind.

This is all you needed to say. He had some success at shite schools in shite conferences and one good game against Clemson.

Going by the one good game metric, slinger is the best OC in CFB history.

Thepassing game improved the last two thirds of the season. Maybe if there was meddling it should have started sooner

Brennan looked more ready for the prom than SEC football in 2017 (and 2018, for that matter). I am looking forward to seeing him in 2020, though.

Not disagreeing here, even though I’m a little biased towards MB. I was pretty pumped that he ended up at LSU, and still think he can do good things here, but I do believe Joe Burrow saved last season for us. MB wasn’t ready last year, and JB(both of them) will be and have been huge for Myles’ development. He has the talent, but he needed to learn how to be a QB at the college level. The JB’s are teaching him a lot, and I expect him to be ready to do big things next year.

ETA: Side note, and I may have posted this before, but O told Joe Brady when he came in to be attached to Myles’ hip at all times. I think this year we see some differences in the offense, but in 2020 we see a completely different offense.

O and E have a long track record of successfully developing young QBs in their respective offensive systems, lets just say I ain’t worried about that position moving forward.

The OC is responsible for the game plan. If the OC can’t get it done it ultimately falls on the HC. That’s why you saw the HC make the move that he did. If Canada meandered through another season, it would be squarely on the HC’s shoulders.

I’m high on Brennan, he just needed time to mature. Burrow’s arrival meant that LSU might actually start to develop some sort of progression for a change. That’s most exciting.

What’s funny is he came to LSU knowing two things. 1- He would have to compete everyday if he wanted to play. 2- He needed time to develop(gain weight) and adjust to the speed. That said, I think this year would’ve been the first year he was fully “ready” but he doesn’t have to be. He’s also not going anywhere until he at least graduates, and possibly not even then. Things can change between now and then, but he loves LSU, and isn’t going anywhere.

. But the evidence suggests that you're grossly underestimating his involvement in the offense

What evidence? O said that his interference in the troy game was limited to a request to stop some of the presnap movement due to a redshirt freshman and a true freshman along the line that were pressed into service before they were ready. They didn't know the offense. Canada's response was frick You. In an interview sometime later O said that was the extent of his involvement and the rest of the season it was Canada's offense.
