Its going to be really nice to have solid depth on the defensive line again, we will be deep and talented for sure in 2017.

While I an thankful for his effort and time with the tigers, and want the best for all the tigers, he was terrible and the only way he should see the field next year is if someone gets hurt.

We're actually going to have depth on the DL next year. That's going to be amazing.

Gilmore was not bad, and got better as the season went on, even as the freshmen started getting more time. People have to remember he's not meant for a 3-4. He's a 4-3 DT through and through. Yet he was very serviceable, sometimes getting push and standing up double teams reasonably well when needed.

We shouldn't act as if anyone getting PT in this defense is a scrub. Kinda sad.

It's certainly not a bad thing he's staying as he can improve and hopefully play better this year. Personally, I didn't see him get any better as the year went on and a NT getting pushed off the ball 3 yards by a single lineman isn't a good problem to have. That said, it was his first year at the position and maybe another year of weights will improve his performance on the field.

Perhaps he was gonna apply for a job at Al's Pancake World.

With Alexander and hopefully Shelvin on board and available to man the middle, I am hoping we see Gilmore get some run at DE. He is better suited there in a 3-4, and would likely be a good depth guy there, rather than being overmatched in the center.

I did. So did others.

He definitely didn't get pushed off 3 yards on every snap. Mainly when he was double teamed. He's a 3/5 tech linemen playing the 1 tech. Considering how our defense and LB's played, it's fair to say he was solid.

I saw him making a solid push up the A gap in every game. Just not every play.

The main reason he should have thought about the NFL is because with the depth next season, his snaps could drop. At the same time we have two DE's ends leaving and maybe Gilmore moves to a position better suited for his skill set or maybe not with other talent around.
