Dude reminds me of Delucia. Thick legs good fastball slider combo. If we can develop him watch out

That first game he came in relief for, I thought the same thing. He has the size and arm to be a powerful ace

He’s going to be really good the next couple of years.

He’ll be a good one. Lost his control middle end of the year

After the fall session, Johnson mentioned Taylor and G Fontenot as having the mentality to develop into closers. He certainly could develop into a starter but I would look for him to help fill that closer role next year.

Possibly so, but I remember one game this year he was still touching 97 mph after 60-70+ pitches and was still dealing. He did struggle with control after that game but that showed that he had it in him. We really need a couple big time starters.

I may be off here and am willing to admit that, but what I feel like I see the most is the Big leagues drafting efficient starters out of college, and then eventually turning them to closers.
If you’re having to fill a middle relief/closer role in college, odds of making it to the bigs seems low.

Similar to a kid being a “closer” in high school. Every pitcher on LSU’s roster was probably a starter in high school. Most MLB pitchers were starters in college.
