Pitcher Cam Sanders was one of 32 non-roster players who were invited to the team's Spring Training, which will begin on Feb. 15 for pitchers and catchers and for all players on Feb. 20.
Sanders is an E.D. White graduate who landed in the pros after pitching for LSU.
Last season, Sanders posted a 4.94 ERA for 2 teams in the Cubs' farm system, posting 111 strikeouts in 98.1 innings.

Good for Cam. He always had the stuff, he’s had a nice start to his pro career.

I've never seen such a dramatic change for the good in one season. At the start of the season, he couldn't get anybody out and by the end he was pitching great.

His mechanics reminded me so much of Nola
And no, before some smart arse comes on here and says I’m comparing him to Nola.. I don’t mean his stats and actual play.. just his mechanics

In his last 4 outings over 13.1 IP at LSU he struck out 16 and walked 1. Definitely a heck of a turnaround. Prior to that he had walked 23 guys in 25.1 IP. He had 3 outings early in the year where he didnt record an out, walked 5 guys, hit a guy, gave up 2 hits and 2 ER.

He also kind of looked like Aaron Nola in general.

Sanders made 11 starts at AAA last year although he made the majority of his appearances out of the pen. Hopefully, he makes an impression this spring and can make an appearance in the big leagues sooner rather than later.
