*Assuming Oklahoma beats Baylor again
Of course if Utah wins, who doesn't want that game! But if Utah loses which is highly likely, I'd prefer to play Clemson over Oklahoma. Yes Oklahoma has a weak D and Jalen hurts isn't the most accurate but he's still damn good. But what I DO NOT want to deal with is having to account for Jalen Hurts running ability to extend drives like he's done to us before. Scramble drills, designed runs, options etc. Don't get me wrong.. clemson is still a dangerous "FRESH" team.
I like our chances against clemson better than Oklahoma for these reasons..
1. We can torch their untested defense. Their defense isn't anything like last year with those 1st Rd D-linemen. They haven't come close to playing anything like the athletes we have on our offense. Not scary 1 bit. Their LB's are a mismatch for our slot and clyde. Nobody's has stopped our receivers and I don't expect it to start then. Pick your poison with cheating to stop clyde or slow down our receivers with those LB's.
2. We can count on our defense to rise to the occasion and give us 2-3 more stops that results in TD's for us. No knock to their O. Trevor can extend drives with his legs, but that's not immediately something he will do like Jalen will. Contain Etienne. We have the DB's to go toe to toe with their receivers. I feel like we can dig them into a hole and get them away from Etienne and their game plan.
3) If we're scoring fast, their coordinator will go into a panic. Their not use to being down, and with them knowing how our offense get's down and if our D is playing to their ability, it will be a long day for them.

This hasn't been brought up much by LSU fans but I totally agree.
Oklahoma (outside of OSU) is the toughest match up for this LSU team. Lincoln Riley is one hell of a play caller and schemes so well for his guys. This power counter rushing attack, with OL pulling all the time, would pose a huge problem for this LSU defense. That and Hurts can, and most likely would, kill us with his legs.
I recognize Trevor is the more talented but he's just a poor mans version of Tua with worse WRs and an OL that isn't as stout as Bamas. I don't think they have the ability to create the same kind of mismatches as Oklahoma could.
If the choice is play Clemson or Okla, Id take Clemson all day.

Utah gives up less points per game than OSU does.
1. Clem
2. UGA
3. Utah
4. OSU
52. OU
Give me OU all day on that.

1 thing that nobody has seemed to ask is who clemson would rather play. I think they'd like to play Ohio state first, they don't want to see us 1st Rd.

No I didn't. That's the ranks of teams we could potentially play. His post was about Utah being easy and OU being hard. I don't believe that at all.
If you must know, LSU is 31st.
We're also 7th in the SEC. So 7 of the top 31 out of 130 are SEC Defenses. But Media thinks the SEC defense is dead.

That ranking isn't PPG by NCAA stats.

Yeah, just like in league play Missouri was the toughest matchup for us. Good thing we dodged THAT bullet!
Oklahoma! Geez, you guys have to put down the bong.

From and Xs and Os perspective, outside of OSU, can you make the case for someone else?
Or is it just, “nope, you’re wrong because I said so”???

We will be playing clemson..nothing LSU can do. We could beat georgia by 50 to 0 and committee will say "well we just think osu is all around better" "we look at games on a week to week basis" next sentence later osu has just look better all year. Makes no sense...

Both teams aren't a factor defensively. It's more about who offense would you rather face, and I'd take my chances with a non mobile Qb who sometimes run rather than Jalen

Utah is 3 in scoring defense and OU is 52. Thats a big difference.
Utah has also not allowed 20 points in more than 2 games. They also have 2 shut outs. Don't care what league it is, shut outs are hard to accomplish.

Well said, I think Oklahoma is the worst matchup for us. I think our best chance to win it all is Lsu the one seed playing Utah then facing Clemson or Osu

I get that but no one has stopped our offense so I'm not worried about neither of their defenses

True. AU with a good field would have been different. imo.

Oklahoma is a worrisome team. Nobody gives them any respect, but- they've been down big in several games. They've come back and won all but one, and the one they lost, they had a chance at the end there too.
I don't want them. I want a team that, if we get up double digits, they panic and it's over. Oklahoma won't do that.
