Why does this keep being brought up?
Post-season-only baseball fans are LSU's dumbest fans I've come to learn.

We won't see Poche tomorrow. You may see Peterson, but not Poche.

Poche's bullpen day is tomorrow. Might be able to get an inning depending on how he feels

Did you not watch the Baton Rouge regional last year?

Absolutely he is. He doesn't throw 95 and he can handle 30 pitches and be ready for Monday.

Monday would only be 4 days rest from his start on Wednesday, with 20-30 real pitches in between as well. Not saying he can't do it, but there's a chance that could push him back to Game 2 of the championship series.

It all depends on Gilbo... stretching Hess to 3 is gonna be a challenge... we need somebody else to step up in a big way

That being said, I really think OSU is gonna pull out all the stops with small ball... I think we're gonna see bunts, bunt and runs, safety squeezes, hit and runs, straight steals... the works... they're gonna put pressure on us at every angle and hope we crack

Our defense better be prepared, or it won't really matter who is pitching

Actually we'll save him for the 1st game in the Finals.

I know it's a given, but is there any OFFICIAL word that Walker is done?

In theory, he only went a couple innings Monday, and you're looking at 4 days rest and pitching again on day 5.

I wouldn't do it, but I don't know what's wrong with him.

That's a stupid mindset to have. Ideally, that's what you want, but if for whatever reason Gilbert and Hess are both out of the game, Poche better be next.

For us to win on Saturday, someone or maybe two someones are going to have to do something better than they have done all year. Maybe Gilbert and Peterson are those two someones.

We are playing for the CWS championship series. You will see poche over Peterson. He is good for a couple of innings if you need him.

My plan would be this:

Gilbert for 5 innings. Probably can't expect more than that. Maybe only 4, who knows. You need a bridge inning somewhere. Hopefully just one inning. It could be Newman, it could be Bush, etc. If possible, I do that inning earlier rather than later, hopefully to take some pressure off of that pitcher by not having it be in the late innings.

However, you could also strategize it so this bridge inning occurs when the bottom part of their lineup is due up.

From there, it's Poche and Hess. 2 innings from Poche (ideally), and then one inning from Hess. If you need to stretch Hess a little longer (and he looks like he can handle it), then do that.

I would not hesitate to throw Poche tomorrow. If that pushes him back to Game 2 of the championship series, then so be it. I'm sure our fans would be okay with starting Peterson or something in Game 1 of the championship series if it means we got there.

frick the fans. Get to the championship series. If poche can throw (which he can), then use him. I like it.

Here's a question.

Let's assume all goes well and Poche throws Game 1 of the CWS Finals. What does the rest of that series look like? Lange comes back for Game 2 on three days rest? Then Gilbert on three days rest in Game 3?

Obviously, we might have to use a lot of the pen in the championship series. But what if Gilbert can't go and we need someone else to start a game? Who is that guy? Peterson?

If Poche wins game 1, Lange game 3 all the way. If we lose that game, Lange in relief for an inning at most. I think you have to save Lange for game 3.

Gilbert won't be necessary because we will beat FLA 2 games in a row. :))

I am guessing the hope will be Gilbert 5, pick out of hat for 2, Hess 2.

Stretch Hess to 3 if have to.
