Gator chomp was reminiscent of what we did to Florida State in Death Valley

At least 20 or 30 years ago, Florida State came to town with a less than stellar team, having lost their first two games of the season. Towards the end of the game, the Tigers were about to seal the victory and the Seminole Band in the lower southeast corner played the tomahawk theme- you know— da da da a a ,,,,,
Without missing a beat, the whole south end zone stood and started chanting its own version of the theme, singing. 0 and three -e -e! It was unrehearsed, spontaneous, and glorious.

I look forward to our series with them in 2022.

I was in the West Upper, doing the chomp against UF was amazing.

"Oh-wee-oh, you suck."

If you’re referring to the 1989 game when they came in 0-2, they won that game 31-21. In fact, the only time we’ve beaten them in Tiger Stadium was the 1982, winner to the Orange Bowl game, so they were definitely not struggling at the time.

Sorry to spoil it for you.

In fact, regarding the “less than stellar” part, that ‘89 team went from 0-2 to probably the best team in the nation by season’s end. 0-2 start doomed their title hopes but they wound up quite stellar.

Well, just friggin’ pile on!!! I’m getting old and that’s how I remember it. Everyone running for office has revisionist history, why can’t I?

Yes. Started out 0-2 (including a loss to Southern Mississippi w/Brett Favre and Curley Hallman), but wound up 10-2

I kinda felt badly replying. But shite, I know what you mean man. I’m getting old myself (Hell I was in the student section that night) and I’m certainly guilty of a faulty memory more and more now. Somehow, my memory has always been pretty sharp on certain things, like LSU football and concerts, LOL. I’m sure that will start to fail too.

I could see y’all chanting that at them early on in the game. Could that be it? I just know that in the student section we were chanting Fuuuuck the Seminoles right in tune with their war chant.

Not sure what part of the game it was, but it was just amazing to see maybe 15,000 seem to have ESP
