All I heard all week was LSU would have a major pitching advantage in game 3 of this series. UT would have to use JWS, but LSU had Chase Shores. So…what happened to our game 3 pitching advantage?

Schloss made a bold move and it paid off in spades. Moved Rojas into the Sunday starting slot after he threw 55 pitches in relief Tuesday night.

Schloss saw something in Rojas (transfer from UTSA) In relief and moved him into the starting weekend lineup. Also…. Their true freshman pitcher was up for the challenge in relief today.

Our bats sucked. Pitching advantages go out the window if you come out first pitch swinging and decide to stop working the pitch counts like you’ve done all year.

Some of that is on us for playing the shift so much, which I despise.

Two or three losses last year were partially attributable to the shift.

There’s the major weakness with Jay Johnson’s coaching abilities, pitching. His assistant coaching background is hitting. Jay has to have a great pitching coach to make up for lack of his pitching prowess. Yeski doesn’t seem to be great. Schloss was a pitching coach as an assistant and also a college pitcher. Skip was a great pitching coach.
